Continuous annual economic growth has been visible for nine quarters
The initial estimate, based on the original data, shows that the quarterly gross value added (GVA) in the first quarter of 2023 is realistically higher by 2.8% compared to the same quarter in 2022. The quarterly growth of GVA is noticeable in most activity groups, with the Public Administration and Defense; Compulsory Social Security, Education, and Health and Social Care Activities having the most significant impact.
Household consumption has increased by 1.4% in real terms in the first quarter of 2023, mainly influenced by the increase in turnover from service activities.
Government consumption in the first quarter of 2023 achieves a real growth of 2.2% compared to the same period of the previous year.
In the first quarter of 2023, the export of goods and services experiences real growth of 4.8%, while the import of goods and services has decreased by 0.8% in real terms.
